Repeated search timer

I was searching for a post today and realized after I hit search that I wanted to change my options so I went back and when I searched again I got the "You have to wait longer to search again" message.

I get that on some forums spammers and whatnot probably abuse features of the site but is the search really an issue here? I'm assuming the setting for how long before you can search again is probably defaulted to whatever it is currently. Could we get that reduced? Thank you.
