Currently have 1.5 mb and VOIP through Gorgenet. Problem is I still have to pay Centurylink 25.50 per month now for basic service box on house. Dont really need landline but dont have line of site so cant use Gorgenet wireless service which would allow me to say adios to 25 /mo to Century as Gorgenet needs that box for DSL.

So, who in Hood River has shopped and tried other options? My current bill is a total of 72/mo total to Century and Gorgenet for 1.5 DSL and VOIP phone

Thanks
Eric

Eric, I work from home so Internet is very important to me. Charter is the most stable, very fast (I have the upgraded speeds), and pretty reasonable with regard to cost.

I've been through them all looking for a reliable connection. Centurylink DSL and Charter are the only ones I've found to be reliable. Charter is faster and cheaper, though, so I'm with Forrest. I'm paying $29.99 for 8Mb up and 1Mb down. Buy a cable modem on eBay so you don't have to rent the modem.

I'm with Forrest on this one. Jodi and I both use the upgraded version for both work and media stuff and it works solid.
