We're talkin' beer vs beer now! My tasty Double Mountain IPA, was eclipsed by Ninkasi IPA, which has now been outclassed by New Belgium Ranger IPA. Problem is it's kinda hard to find? Costco?
Cheers

mmmm beer. what a great debating topic. I must say the northwest is the best in the world imo when it comes to ipa. Oregon, colorado, montana, dunno bout mormon utah with the 4%
anyway double mountain very tasty but do they bottle and send to montana? full sail does but thats not a real ipa. ranger ooowwweee try walmart they have em here was everywhere then kinda evaporated. Big sky IPA excellent, Bent Nail very good, bozone hopzone diggin it.
Now my absolute favorite that totally dissappointed me this year as clearly the train has derailed i use to compare every IPA too was DUCKDIVE granted not a ipa but a pale it had the taste of even the best ipa. This beer in cannon beach at bills tavern I think is so popular everyone comes back and gets more made me think maybe they rushed it with the demand cause what i had this year was not my duckdive.
Still my favorite.
oh by the way i got for my birthday a beer of the month club from round the usa. its been 4 months and i can honestly say the east has NO CLUE how to make beer. it says ipa on the bottle im all excited to find the next best one and crack the top and yeah utter disappointment. Keep up the brewing northwest and we'll put budweiser outta business in these parts.

Second that opinion. Don't mind a good IPA every once and a while but stouts are my thing. Have you tried Samuel Smith-Oatmeal Stout? Rich, smooth and full of flavor. Whole foods and some Fred Meyers carries them.

Chooch. That stuff on the West Coast anywhere? At 18% ABV I assume caution is advised...

Yeah there are some places that carry it. Whole Foods and Belmont Station in PDX have a good Dogfish Head selection. The 12 oz bottle usually runs around $7...totally worth it IMHO. There is a shortage of 120min IPA cuz they had to dump an entire batch due to stuck fermentation. Best bet is to find a Dogfish Head retailer and try their 90 min or 60 min IPA, both are very good just not knock your socks off good like the 120 min. Hope they get a new batch done soon, I'll keep an eye out for ya.
ps Be sure to check out the show Brew Masters on the Discovery Channel, it follows Dogfish Head owner Sam Caligone through his wild process to find and make new extreme beers.

I've seen Safeway carry the dogfish head 90 minute.
stuff is expensive and I've only seen it come in 4 packs
haven't found the 120minute yet. my brother in texas says its his favorite beer of all time.
for those of you who don't know. the number of minutes is the amount of time they add hopps

I've seen the 120 at Johns Marketplace on Multnomah blvd in Multnomah village. They have a crazy selection. That 120 is wicked shit. Really good, but one at a time is enough for me. New Seasons also carries the Dogfish head.

Yeah a lot of their seasonal and specialty beer comes in 4 packs (for about $ a their normal line up comes in 6 packs (for about $12). Its one of the more expensive beers out there but by far the best relatively large scale craft brewery out there IMHO.

Are we just talking bottled beer? if not.... Shout out to Walking Man, my fav
Which is the official double mountain ipa? hop lava?
I wanna try the 120 minute Dogfish one but it seems like it would be hard for a bottled beer to beat the freshies we get at the microbrews around here.

You guys got it all wrong.
Beer is much more enjoyable when you dress like a superhero and pass out in the street alone.
The type of beer you're drinking doesn't make a difference.

Hey now, I used to hate on the east coast like this, but a few breweries have me coming around.
Coast brewing here in Charleston is pretty damn good.
Their Hopart IPA has won me over.
Can't say I had too many problems with the breweries in Asheville, NC either.

LOL, I guess it's all relative...as I sit there is a Dogfish head brewpub a half mile from me...and all I really want is a nice Guinness or even better a Brown Ale from Nelson Brewing Company in Nelson, BC (now that's a cool town...but far away.)

It most certainly does matter! When pissing ones self, you want to make sure that you smell like high quality urine and not that of an ordinary homeless man/woman. Otherwise the terrorists win.
