I hit siletz this morning ... tide was running hard with the wind and I could barely hold down the 7m! No rain, 45 min session was enough!

Anybody else get in on that action? I see it gusting 40+ now!

Friday WAS good, got out for a dw Saturday on the north strip. Yeah, no rain a few sun breaks and Super steady 35-45+ Smile had to let go of the board to land the kite so they tumbled down the beach hopelessly Sad lost a fin from a set of TCs that I really liked SadSad

6m RPM, 6m Rally did great. 4m would have been a better size because we were overpowered. Heavy and short tow boards would have been a good call too.

Took a few phone snaps, sorry no action shots.

Ahhh, reminds me of last Fall when I had to abort the DW at Gearhart...just couldn't hold the 7 down. Finally secured the kite on the beach, when something white whizzes by my head. Heartbreak as I see my board tumbling down the beach, shedding epoxy and foam on every impact. More heartbreak after I retrieve it and have to try and carry it 300 yards straight back up into the wind.

Big Southerlies...gotta love em! Crying or Very sad

Good sessions on Saturday down GB/Pistol way. Was a little lighter down here.... 25-35 ....
Wet, windy Monday morning coming up. Blanco sensor should be off the hook. Was getting used to dry kites....

Those equipment casualty shots inspired me to post my own recent battle scars from Sunset beach. Although if I'd been out in 45 mph Shocked like you fellas it woulda been lots worse. Got it all patched up and ready to hit it again!!

I got out at Kalama for an hour. decent 18-28mph wind. Stayed in one spot the whole time fighting tide. It was ripping out freaking fast!!! Next time i'll wait for an incoming tide on S wind. Was a 9ft jigh to a 0ft low so it was hauling balls. I did one jump and spent the next 25 min getting back up to my origional spot I jumped from.

I debated hitting the coast with my 4m kite but went with the 12 min drive from my house instead of 1:20.......

Dude saturday was the sweetest, driest south wind I'd ever seen around here. I thought about kalama but then looked at the tide tables...

A+ for effort Kochease!

Thanks Beech,

Glad to know your kite is bandaged all back together. You ready to give her another coastal downwinder attempt minus the kite carnage?
