Thu Jan 20, 11 6:34 am Oregon & NorCal Trip August |
|
|
Hi hope you guys can help, planning a 3 week trip over from the UK to Oregon and NorCal in August and was hoping to get some info on local spots and where to spend my kiting days.
I have done the SF down to LA trip a few yeasr ago so this year thought I would head north as i hear there are some epic beaches to kite.
Probably flying into Portland and leaving from SF so wanted to hit the Gorge and everywhere in between, any help would be greatly apprehiated including beaches / spots, where to stay, kite-shops, kite sizes, board sizes, usually travel with 138 twin plus 6 ft surfboard plus 7 and 9 rabbits but will have the new 10.5 by then.
Thanks _________________ Regards

Whaddup Phil,
August is the perfect time around here. I think the 7,9 & 10.5 will be good for kite range, If you need a Boss or Big Mama I got ya covered. Tons of places to stay and plenty of kite shops in the gorge and coast area's. When you come down thru Southern Oregon i can direct you to some killer spots.
see ya on the water!

During the summer months I usually reside in the Gorge, But i'm based out of Southern Oregon. We have a few goodies mapped out down south, you can check out our location guide @ http://www.southernoregonkiteaddicts.com/S.O.K.A.%20Kite%20Guide.htm
hope that helps=) _________________ I stretch my wings and pull the strings |

Use search too...I posted a trip report a couple years back....
We got lucky, but the Nor-Cal coast is known more for fog than wind. |

Phil, you already have probably two of the best Oregon kite guides you could ever want in Matty and Chooch (both NW Wainman Riders).
Pack what they say to pack, meet them where they say to meet them, ride when/where they say to ride, and you'll have the adventure of your life.
Feel free to give us a shout if you need anything. Matty and Chooch know us pretty well.
I'll pm you my contact info.
