Stopped by the GoPro booth at Surf Expo over the weekend in Orlando, FL. Some gear that has been in the works is to hit the streets soon and at nice prices. Things like an LCD display, expanded battery and 3-D housing and software. There is even a less definitive rumor about an underwater corrective port coming out from GoPro. Lots of photos from the show and additional information at:

Interesting that they added the LCD. I thought one of the reasons it was able to be so small, bomb proof and have a decent battery life was because it basically just had a record button and a manual viewfinder. Granted I've never used one but I'd be interested to see what people think when they start using the new versions.

That stereo housing should be frickin awesome if you have a 3D tv. Interesting that they mount the second one upside down so they can get the lenses closer together.

I was hoping for a smaller, more stealthy version that makes you look like less of a self-obsessed, I-wanna-show-my-friends-how-cool-I-am, douche in the lift line. Oh well... Maybe next year.

I like to film myself because of my memory, it sucks! I enjoy it whether I am skiing with the kids or flying off a mountain. When I watch it puts me back in the moment. simple as that.

The screens should be available either later this winter or early Spring.

We have these screen adapters and other new GoPro accessories on backorder to arrive as soon as they are released.

If you don't wanna look like a dork, then don't act like a dork.

Take the damn camera off when you get in line/done with your run... Unless your being a dork and videoing that all important last few hundred yards up to the lift...

Hey G, I'd like to be able to control you remotely, via live video up/down link, as you kite!

Then I get the feeling of kiting while still at work... Smile

I hear ya. I love the output of the GoPro HD, but man does that big rectangular box look stupid up on top of your helmet. The CountourHD helmet strap mount looks a little better. But, I have the GoPro, so that's what I work with. I suppose a simple rectangular box enclosure is what keeps the cost affordable for the masses.
