I don't want this to happen to my new kites? any suggestions... the wind is blowing 35k and the area will be under 10' of silty water in a couple hours.
I can't move away from here either?

Head a couple miles north to Reef Drive and the coastal flats....Or try Homer. In Anchorage there's also Westchester Lagoon or Jewel Lake. Watch for pedestrians. Eklutna Lake just froze over, but no one is walking on it yet. Portage is getting there. Besides, no wind and minus 3 degrees right now...time to chop more wood.

Homer, Alaska. Clam shells will rip your kite to shreds.

That doesn't look fun!!
I would recommend sticking to what Alaska is best known for with activities:
*Winter skiing and snowboarding
*Summer flyfishing
Or travel to some place that offers good kiteboarding in warm water and surf!!
