All three outside footstrap inserts, bilaterally, in my TT have stripped out. The original 6mm stainless screws no longer hold in what appears to be aluminum board inserts. This has rendered an otherwise fine and relatively new board useless. I have tried 1/4 - 20 screws, but this was a very temporary fix. I have yet to try J-B Weld, or epoxy. Any constructive criticism or otherwise would be greatly appreciated.

You may have to go to the hardware store and get tap and die set to re-tap the hole so that you can use oversize bolts...or maybe just refresh the threads.

When we rip our bindings clear off our ski's (in alpine) it does happen! We heli-coil. JB Weld is also amazing but messy. We used JB weld to glue riser plates on ski's and then mount bindings to those - I never had a problem with anything that was JB Welded either!

Heli-coil's are more precise though.

Make sure to use a bottom tap NOT tapered most cheap kits are tapered.

Tapered by the time you cut nice threads to insert the coil you'll be coming through the other side.

Some helicoil kits will offer a oversize tap along with coils and a tool to put em in. Not a bad idea to dap a bit of Blue loctite which is secure but not permanent.

Sidenote is there enough metal to cut helicoils in on those inserts?

I will eyeball Helicoil kits. The inserts in my TT seem really shallow. Also I do not know if there is enough metal for the sidecut. I will see. Perhaps there is a coil that will fit.

Thanks to all for the tips so far.

Worst comes to worse you could T-bolt it. That's what we used to do back in the day to snowboards when the tore out. Ugly and kills your resale but it works. Heli coil is probably a good option. I would use a little bit of water proof epoxy when you put the Heli coils in to seal up the core.
