I just checked the forecast for Sauvie and sunday is looking good from the south. I haven't ever done Sauvie on a south wind yet but I'm told that it needs to be a little SE to work well.

Can any of the other Sauvie regulars chime in on if it might be decent. I know I'd like to get out if I can. I have been out of it for too long.

I've known people to try it - but no one has ever said it was good - ever.

Dude, it looks like the coast may go from the South tomorrow. Couple of good spots to ride if it goes south that are away from the wavess - bays and stuff - so if you are not ready to rock waves you can still ride on the coast.

I wish I could. I don't know if I'll be busy though. Even if I'm not I don't really trust my car to not die in the middle of the forest. The waves don't really bother me too much at this point though. Besides if you don't like them you can just go out a little farther until it's just swells; or is that a no-no? I don't really know the rules of ocean riding yet.

You planning on going?

Dude...not to be a Sauvie downer, but you'd have better odds of turding out a gold nugget than in hitting a south, storm wind day in late October at Sauvie.

Grab your smallest kite (and I mean small)and head to the coast!

Tenative plan is to go coastal. Probably roll with Jbruxer, surfncap, and Blaze. You live fairly close to Jbruxer - we could meet up with you along the way. But everything is wind dependent.

Keep you posted.

Hey mate if NOAA's forecast is accurate their won't be any outside. Go and lie on the ground next to your house, look up and imagine your house is about to tip over on you, go to the coast tomorrow and find out what it feels like!! Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

Martin if you go please post or pm me your plan - i might come and play on the inside

Still tenative. But I'll keep you posted. Jbruxer is playing weather man.

Ponds should be good tomorrow. Strong, but still good if you got a small kite.

What time's everyone going to the ponds? I'm thinking about going in the a.m if it's on.

Please keep us posted on your plans. I'd be interested if the wind isn't too strong for my 6 meter kite.

I assume that the ponds is the bay and the launch is safe (never been there). Is that right? How conducive is it for a relative novice?
