Tue Sep 28, 10 2:36 pm OT: Anyone want to join us in Revelstoke BC for winter? |
|
|
Hey,
Decided to chase the powder this winter and will be spending it in Revelstoke, BC. It supposedly gets 40-60ft of pow and has epic terrain at the resort (over 5000ft of vert, blah blah blah) and even more epic terrain in the backcountry. Anyway, we're renting a 3bd house for my friend and me at the moment and are looking for a 3rd person. We may look for someone up there, but it'd be cooler if I know you or can meet you here. If anyone's interested lemme know.

Good choice for snow . I went on a 4day cat trip near Rev. We had appr 10 runs a day and that was enough to fill the day . Just soaked from sweating and tons of snow all over ! Eating lunches on the trip up . Awesome chalet at the end of the day . great 5star food .Etc.
I scooped this deal on a stand by price and got it for 50% off day rates Bargain at 350/day
Chest deep snow . Open mountain tops and trees , some of both .Tons of steep and with drop offs into untouched cover you up snow as you come out of it only to get showered by more . It was real hard to go to a resort after that experience
Again well done and enjoy your winter , all winter ? I'm envious !

PS
I have to say , you probably know though but do you report to the RCMP when you back country as there are avalanches ! A lot in that area ! they will come and get you when your late for supper .LOL |

That sounds like good fun Gene! Are you guys going for a week, or for several months? Are you planning on resort skiing, guided bckcntry, heli, or a combination? I'd be interested - but not longer than a week?!

How long of a drive is it to Revelstoke from Portland?
What's the name of the snowcat touring company? |

We're going for the winter. Lease is for 6 months from Oct-Apr 1st. Going to be riding at the resort, hiking the backcountry, and hopefully sledding (looking into picking up a decent used sled for steep and deep pow if anyone has leads or advise). May consider cat or heliboarding although with the other activities not sure if it'll warrant the money. I think it's roughly a 12 hour drive from Portland so doable in a day.
Going to be asking for about $600/mo plus utilities probably and will see if there's any takers for the room. _________________ The Slider Project, LLC
