| Anyone have a reccomendation/inside line with a good Subie shop in the area? My parked car was hit and run a few nights back, just got done with my insurance adjuster and I want to find a good shop other than the one they want to send me to. It needs a bunch of body/frame/mechanical work. |

| Brian, my brother is an auto tech, and has a lot of insider information, although he only works on German auto. He has stated repeatedly to me over the years - to check out Hawthorne Automotive; although they tend to be a touch more expensive, they are honest and do a great job - they come highly recommended by other mechanics and their customers! |

The Subaru man in the Gorge is Andy at Shade Tree Automotive. We have had him service our two Subarus exclusively for the past 5 years and he is the most fair, honest, competent Subaru mechanic I've ever used or heard of. Every Subaru owner in HR/ White Salmon should know about him.
He recently did more than $2500 of work on my Outback that would have been more than $4000 at another shop. Included new water pump, clutch, complete engine pull and rebuild, seals, head gasket, timing belt, rods, rod bearings, AC belt, and much more... He ONLY works Subarus and is a total expert. Go once and you'll never have another mechanic touch your Suby. He's up by Snowden just past the Strawberry Hill Workout place.
