I'm off to Maui in a few weeks with the wife to kite. It's been 15 years since I've been to Maui and I'm wondering what "not to miss" when it comes to good food. I can't afford Mama's every night but I'm not living off jojo potatoes and chicken strips either. Where do you eat?
Also, best places to kite besides kite beach?
Average kiter with 7,9,11 Xbows and a 15m Cult. |

| We stayed in Paia for the month of July.. There are several good restaurants there. We ate at milagros alot, great fish tacos and seafood enchildas..not as pricey as Momma's. Also go to the mall in town and eat at Ramen Ya...great food and cheap by Maui standards and we ate there many times...There is a great pizza place in Paia but cant remember the name right now...Go to Mana foods in Paia....They have deli and great stuff there.... |

| Good meal at Haliimaile Country store just upslope of Paia. Monday night 1/2 off with can of food. Lunch is excellent too. Great deal at Kahili golf course 6.99 lunch with a killer view on deck from North shore to Kihei and volcano. Gives you a place to wear those golf shirts you brought to try to fool the ticket agents .Mambo in Paia has good happy hour food and a burger and microbrew for $8.00. Milagros always wins for cheapest margarrita at around $3.00 vs 17 at Mamas. |

| Costco has decent fast food at mainland prices. Pizza, dogs, smoothies, chicken wraps, etc. No Costco card required. I'll second Cafe Des Amis. There is a good fish place on the intersection of Baldwin Ave and the hwy in Paia as well. Can't remember the name. |

Maui Tacos is good too.
