My wife and I are heading to the coast this weekend. Want to get some kiting in Saturday morning if possible. We're newbies as of this year and can ride both ways with good kite control, but still learning a lot of course. We've been at the event site almost every weekend this summer but wanted to start venturing out.
What's the best way to know if Jones, The Ponds, or any other location are ride-able on a given day (winds/tides/etc..)? What should I look for?
Thanks in advance for any info! |

I enjoy riding on the coast in almost all wind directions except E. NW of course is great, S-SW in reverse, and W is fun. Generally run downwind with two vehicles. Need to head to Trestle Bay for the E-ENE winds though. Everyone heads for FT. Stevens but we usually have Long Beach to ourselves with 24 milles to choose from . |
