this next link page has some current and non-current links, but has been an important reference for me over the years :

Let me first say that I have less than good wood working skills. Yet, when I look at your repair I think, "Ding Stick." The stuff is super easy to work with, sands well, and looks fine when done. Every shop in Hod River has it. In fact, I think it's just re-packaged plumber's epoxy stick. Anyway, it's only 12 bucks per stick and you won't need much to fix that.

Ding stick and solar rez work just fine for a small repair like that.

Epoxy ding stick, fill the holes, sand away excess with small rotating disk on a cordless drill, then mask off and paint with black appliance paint to match rails.

Done, and back in the water the next day!

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Thanks everyone. Sounds like ding stick is the ticket. Will pick some up tomorrow and start filling in the hole. A new must have in my toolbox.
