Holy crap. Those guys were lit up.

Any idea where that was taken. The shots of them right near the shore are interesting. Must be really shallow water because you can tell it's nuking pretty well but the surface was still glassy.

Way cool. I'm just starting to get into jumps but I can't wait till I can do some of that stuff.

Ah good stuff. I only went to hood river during my lessons which were pretty early in the season but that seemed pretty empty considering how windy it was. Was it cleared out for the video or just not a usual space? Every time I look at the sandbar cam on a windy day it seems like an experienced kayaker couldn't thread his way between all the kites. Maybe that's just because I'm new though and not used to being out with many people.

One of these days I'll be in those videos pulling ginormus airs Very Happy

Haha. This is my first season. If I end up pulling one of those ginormus airs it will undoubtedly be accompanied by me screaming "OH MY HOLY HELL!!!" and then me eating a face full of water. I've started doing jumps and gotten a few good ones in but I doubt they are anywhere close to the height I saw some of the guys in the video do.

1:01 in the movie... did they jump?

I drive home everyday asking myself, "would is be possible to jump from there with a kite?"

One line break and you are falling a looooong way into the water.

I was wondering the same thing. From the video it looks like they were just up there for a photo shoot.

I did see a video once of a guy jumping off the back of an aircraft carrier. That was a long way to the water. He rode it out though.

if memory serves that was Robby Naish. No offense Youkai, it's just funny how he is now referred to as 'a guy'.

Naish, Adam Koch and now local HR resident Chris Gilbert hucked the carrier back in the day.

Boots are the only way! There are these boots with wheels on them and I see people rolling all over the place doing super sweet moves and stuff. I've even seen them go backwards and grind rails and stuff. Are those the same kind of boots you use on kite boards? If so that is super cool! I've heard people call them fruit boots but I don't get it...???
