Wow, so I get to Jones beach and I'm waiting for wind. It's blowing like maybe 20 and looks to build. I rig my fav RPM 12mtr and and head out on my board. I go directly downwind and decide to make a dash through the channel. I cruise across, all the way across and the wind is really strong!!
I tack and look up and there is a ginormasstical ship!! Holy bashmoly that shizzle was huge!!

Cool beach, but some crazy 4 wheeling adolescents terrorista's kicking up all buttloads of dust.

Other than that a quite wonderful day at Jones. My cherry popping experience and I will definitely go back for moe!!

Meteorologic-ally speaking, what are the conditions that led to the wind being so steady there! The wind was almost like trades from 1pm to 5pm. Nice and tastey!!!

Shhhhhhhhhhh! Don't let the cat out of the bag Wink

If you keep tacking upwind on the washington side there is some sweet butter about 3-4 upwind tacks away. Flatter lay of the land and close proximity to the coast probably play a part in the wind quality.

Fun day!! Went out on the epic 9m renegade and should could have used a 7m. Was completely lit on the 9m and my short twin tip. Rocking day indeed!! Was best till 6 but I didn't get to grab a tasty session until 7:30 ish and it had turned into hood river, big lulls and huge gusts of 28+ and wind turned to onshore putting menin the beating zone of all the chop. Wore me out fast. Overall was a fun day.
