Mike Jacoby?

Any one have a confirmation or update on Mike Jacoby? A friend told me they Life-Flighted him out of Post Canyon late last night??

I don't know Mike well, but I saw him this weekend and our mutual friend just called. He was found unconscious in Post Canyon, reportedly with a broken jaw, and flown to OHSU where he is (again, reportedly) in a coma. His family has been notified and another mutual friend is planning to see him, so I'll post more as I hear but again I'm not a direct source for detailed info.

Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Let's hope he is OK!

Update on Mike:

He is at OHSU and seems to be starting to move around a little. The hospital staff and his parents are overwhelmed and moved by the interest and love from everyone but ask that everyone please not call, and let them do their jobs until Mike gets more stable.

He was found about 30 minutes after his accident (details unknown now), and lifeflighted out of OHSU. He has a broken jaw and concussion. He has good brain activity and his inter cranial pressure is ok. He hasn't regained consciousness but everyone is quite optimistic. He has responded to some stimulus and seems to have grabbed his Mom's hand.

Send lots of healing thoughts out, post some love on his FB page, but don't touch that phone yet!

Does anyone know if he was wearing a full face helmet>?

I took a pretty grim digger in Bend this last weekend and tore the hell out of the chin on my FF helmet. Not trying to start a could of should of debate, just curious if there are instances where a FF helmet can not prevent face/jaw injuries.

I ride with Mike quite a bit and when he is riding big stuff, he wears a full face. My guess is that he was on an XC Mitchell Ridge ride and was not wearing his full face. But that is pure speculation......
