I am curious what you all think on this....do you prefer to ride on you bigger kite....9m-10m or on your smaller ones....6-8m?

Why do you prefer it?

A good mixture of both. I love a lit 7m day but I also have fun on my 9m and 12m when the wind is steady Very Happy

PostWed Jul 07, 10 6:16 am    Hey Richard..I like my 10 meter the best, but.. Reply with quote

7 mtr Octane on a solid day is terrific for cruising up to lower hatch and dodging windsurfers, just kidding, and playing in waves.
For me the 10mtr. is stable and predictable allows me to feel more confident and really well powered.
Butt, and this is a big butt, my 12mtr. on a hot day at Rufus and a 7 foot surfboard is just phenom a nal.

The money shot usually happens for me on a 10, but I've been known to enjoy multiples on a variety of different types and sizes of partners.

LOL
Very Happy

One thing I like about this area for kiting is the tremendous variety of riding conditions. You get days that are barely ridable 9 knots. And then you get days that are barely rideable 40 some odd knots. And then everything in between. You get swell, flat water, waves at the coast - all good stuff.

I try and think back to some of my best days - I had one day last season in March where I was perfectly powered on my 10. Epic day. And then a month later I had a day where I was completely lit on my 7. Blown away. Couldn't decide which one was better.

Yo Bulae - you sure you mean butt and not but? I'm sure you got a big butt and all, but we are talking about kiting Wink

5m and 7m when I'm in the surf. 9m and bigger when I'm on my Boot board.
