Ok, so I've just got my kite all wrapped up and ready to go back to the finger. The finger is the little mini peninsula that we walk out to and then proceed to swim to the Snatch Patch.
As I approach the Snatch Patch exit I see Eric standing their with a smile on his face. I'm wondering what is up, because I see this guy floating away and cussing like I drunk sailor on shore leave.
I get over and Eric tells me that this guy has been trying to get from the Snatch to the Finger for the past 20 minutes. I stood there and watched for about five minutes.
It was sort of sad, but I couldn't help but smile. The quote comes to mind, "There but for the grace of God go I."
So, finally the guys friend comes out and attempts to throw the guy a leash or something, in an attempt to pull him in.
If you've read this far and you want to know how to get from the Snatch to the finger you just need to do the following:
1. Go the most southern point of the Snatch Patch. Walk in a straight line out until your feet can't touch. Currently, no pun intended, you will be aiming at the middle of the area where we walk out to the water on entry. Then make sure to have your leash secured to your kite so you don't have to hold it. Lay on your board and swim like hell until you think your gonna drowned. As you get caught in the current you'll be pulled to the bushes, but don't give up hope because your almost completely out of Snatch territory and within inches of the Finger.
And whatever you do, don't give up!

Happy trails,
Ron Very Happy

Same thing happened to me after 5 attempts with kite unleashed & crossing with board & lines in front of me as normal with no luck of reaching other shore... a stronger swimmer that had finally made it after three attempts threw me his kite bar & towed me across the current. thanks my friend! Very Happy

hahahaaaaaaa!!
So glad I'm not the only one that got swept past the bushes and had to try again. Frgg'n embarrassing cause the folks eating burgers watching and laughing....felt like such a tool and seriously crushed my cool factor. Now I don't feel so humiliated!!!

have to admit my laughter was part relief... that I had picked a good line, kicked hard and made it on the first try.
