well not everyone first post are as much fun as your's were

was it not something about fish changing sexes from women pissing in the willamette?
Laughing
I find an easier approach to Knuckleheads on the beach (with kites)is to tell everyone else to watch out Evil or Very Mad Rolling Eyes

and you begginners ,you may want to go someplace with nothing downwind,
to practice your kite skills

Get a Trainer kite-learn to fly that on land to learn how to fly a kite. Anything else has too much power. Your going to get hurt(or hurt someone else, or hurt the sport, or all 3) if you don't listen to these peoples advice, not sure how many times people have to tell you that before you take it in.

If spent half as much time on the water as you did posting on this forum you would know how to kite!

Oh, it does get good on here, doesn't it? Very Happy Take it all with a sense of humor (and more importantly, take Chooch's advice), and you'll be fine.

A little update. Went over to the Cape yesterday and found a place called Sailworld, they specialize in windsurfing, surfing and kiting. They do sell all the goods to get you going and had a decent selection. I will do buiseness with them in the future.

Ok for the good news i found some time to take the kite out. Wow i haven't felt anything with that much power that didn't have a motor. sketchy big time. My daughter was my launch partner, good sport with a lot of patience. I used my wifes elementary school playground because it has a large field. I'm still here but did have a close call with some soccer equipment and the woods.

monkey boy I feel the love and your concern, but i'm really not a stupid person. In fact i think most of the time i'm quite smart. I am a general contractor that can build houses, i can also build a pretty sick car as i built a porsche that people cant take there eyes off of. Some people have a harder time grasping things than others. Things come relatively easy to me. It sounds like you are the go to guy when it comes to this sport. So relax and help me, and at some point if i feel i need to take a lesson i will do so. Monkey boy i am having trouble on the relaunch how do i go about this. Even on land i'm having trouble, help please thanks.

Hey Ben,

Have you ever checked out the Progression videos by FatSands? There is tons of good material out there for beginners who's looking for some info, also try youtube. Google is a sweet tool as well, and last but not least kiteboarding magazines often run 'how to' articles.

Theres also a "search" button on to top of this page, comes in handy from time to time.

See you out on the water Ben Wave

You're really Andy Kaufman, aren't you? You faked your own death in 1984, then resurfaced for a few years as Ann Coulter and now you've decided that your pièce de résistance will be to drive a bunch of strangers in the Pacific Northwest insane. It's clever, but I don't think it's quite up to par with your Jerry Lawler collaboration...

Ben, I will make you a deal. If you post a video of you flying that kite I promise to walk you through a step by step of how to relaunch old school kites. Is that a fair trade?
