Started unhooking yesterday for the 1st time. F.U.N!~ Razz

Any recommendations on where to set the trim line on the RPMs for best unhooking performance?

Also where is the best place to connect the leash?

Thanks,

I don't fly them, but in general, you have to reef in at least an inch or so of trim line so it doesn't back stall. You can use the regular leash attachment point if it is a little hairball out or the suicide leash style..directly to the depower rope (on the fixed side, not the adjustable side).

make sure your leash release is in good working order and you know which direction to pull it.

Connect your front lines all the way back, and your back lines all the way forward on the pig tails. Your kite should unhook without much trimming, and your back lines should be tight when you unhook for the best experience. It's really hard to unhook when you have your kite super depowered, but really when you're doing that the wind probably sucks anyway (Like Yesterday's Wind).

One thing to keep in mind when you unhook, don't try to edge against the kite, just go with it downwind.

It also will help if you adjust your on kite settings. i find the rpms unhook best with front bridle on the farther back shorter setting.

If you have the 2010 bar, the metal loop that the donkey dik was in is the best place to attach your leash. Otherwise suicide leash or oh-sh1t loop (beware that the osl bungie can break).
