Self Landing

What is the best way to self land a 2.5M air foil 3 line kite? When I pull and hold the middle line the kite falls, but twirls round and round making it difficult to wrap my lines on the bar. How do I get it to stay on the ground?

Once you flag the kite out walk up that center line until you reach the kite. Secure the kite with sand or some rocks. You can then walk the lines back out and wrap the bar up.

Ram it into some innocent bystander.

Then when your winding up your lines say "dude, WTF, watch where you are going!"

If there aren't any tourists around you can just auger the kite into the ground then wrap one line a couple times on the bar then proceed to wrap all the lines like normal. The kite may flap around a bit but it shouldn't get too mangled up.

That's typically how I do it.
