Anyone have any specific knowledge about whether kiting in Padre is going to be negatively affected by the oil spill?
Please refrain from any comments about how kiting is the last thing to worry about amidst such a disaster. I agree that the spill is terrible and inexcusable, but this is a kiting forum and I am making some kiting travel plans for next winter break.
We went to Padre this winter break and lucked out on the wind. Willing to chance it again if the oil isn't an issue.
Any other ideas for continental US winter break kiting? |

Loop currents in the Gulf will keep it away from here. If we happen to get a good tropical storm or hurricane this season, the oil will most likely show up here. No promises though. |

I'm sailing from Galveston to Veracruz, Mx this week.
Like was said earlier the loop current is pushing the oil east until when/if a hurricane changes the game. |
