Earlier this year, I was trying to find a great way to keep track of my kite sessions and couldn't find anything I liked. So.... I created TrakDat (as in Tracking Data and Track That!). My goal is to build a tool that all of you find useful and allow you to dig into your session data. The site is in "Beta" now, and we're still working out all the kinks but it's ready for you to start using. You can add all your kites and boards, add friends from Facebook, Twitter, and Gmail, see your sessions on a Google map, and view the ikitesurf.com wind sensor graph for your session.

I'd really appreciate your feedback, feature requests, suggestions, thoughts, and comments. Please check it out and let me know what you think. Also, if you notice that the wind graph for a particular beach is not the *best* one, please email me at info@trakdat.com and I can update the site.

Remember - This site is for YOU. http://www.trakdat.com

Note - We're still working on a mobile version of the site that will make "checking in" at the beach much much easier.

I would be worried that someday all that trackdat data could be used against me in divorce court.

Nice picture of Hoc.

Cool idea on the site. I haven't checked it out yet but I do like to know how much time I've logged on the water; helps me recollect the experience in the middle of a gloomy winter (usually while daydreaming at work).

There's a 'social networking' site I use called http://plus3network.com that tracks fitness activities (I convinced them to add kiteboarding and windsurfing) and matches donors with charities that you can support. It's easy for cyclists to upload GPS data and see how you did on each ride, but I found the calendar enticed me to become more active (after seeing all the holes in mine!). Maybe that can inspire you on features.

Thanks and good luck!

I started tracking my sessions last year so that when I went to buy new kites I could use data to decide which kites to buy and where to spend the money.

I liked it and have kept it up because I like knowing when and where I ride and what I'm working on each session.

Mostly I'm an analytical nerd.

What if your boss gets ahold of that data, and you get fired and the only place you can find a new job is Kansas? What then? this thing could be a nightmare. Damn Technology!!!

Ha ha! Yeah, please don't tell my boss either (wife or work boss) Laughing

I also wanted to track the number of sessions and hours on each of my kites so that I'd know what I was really using in a season. And to be able to convey the "exact" amount of usage when selling it. So under the GEAR section you can see exactly this.

Of course, not everyone is going to care about their data but my hope is that it becomes a useful tool for those that do.

The Plus3 idea is AWESOME. I think there's some really cool aspects of it that can apply to TrakDat.
