So slingshot has a pretty good safety w. the single front line kill... my question is why the line between your leash and front line is a bungee? A leash is a bungee already, so i'd think shock issues would be handled. I'm interersted b.c I had the bungee line break on me a while back and almost totalled my kite.
Story:
Shallow water, rooster, 7m rev. My chicken loop had slipped out and the kite depowered on the safety just fine. I recovered the bar to relaunch, but didn't like where the lines were on one of the wingtips, so dropped my bar to get a cleaner angle on lines (in shallow water, why risk it?). Apparently the bungee bound w/ the other lines or itself - kite relaunched and I was flying on the bungee! Kite got up to about 45 degrees b4 the bungee let go!! Thanks to an alert kiter on the beach the kite didn't get a scratch an no one was hurt, but it could have been worse!
Thoughts?[/u] |

Those safety lines need to be bungies to prevent putting any tension on the flagging line while the kite is flying. You will notice that all the kite companies use this type of line for similar safety systems (Liquid Force, Nobile, SS, etc) |

Needs to be a bungee to kill slack when you trim/depower the bar... |

The line inside the bungee is 800lb line. Same as all the center lines on REV. |
