RR: Nope. Sauvie's (Spelled intentionally in the possessive ) Maybe, but not a great bet. Jones & Hood River both going off right now. |

In Scabpoose right now...wind is coming from the wrong direction for sauvies.
it's west wind in the gorge today....rooster needs and east wind.

Its all good....the rest of the weak looks solid! Sunday looks like the nicest day of the weekend.....gonna get some in the Hood!
Forecast
Solid westerlies across the Gorge Friday. Strong and gusty westerlies, especially for the Near East Saturday. Milder westerlies Sunday.
A weak system will approach British Columbia on Friday as the North Pacific High holds off the Oregon Coast. These combined factors look to keep solid westerly flow in place. On Saturday, the weak system slides past as it clips the Gorge. Behind it the NPH slides back up the coast a bit and westerly gradients intensify. However, clouds and scattered rain showers may dampen the winds a bit. On Sunday, high pressure looks to spread overhead limiting the wind potential.
Friday:
Westerlies look to be pretty solid through the Gorge. Look for Stevenson to reach upper teens; the Corridor to see near to low 20's; the Near East to reach low 20's; and the East to see near to low 20's. The south Coast (Cape Blanco south) seeing modest NW winds in the mid to upper teens with the north Coast seeing mid to upper teen SW winds.
Saturday:
Strong and gusty westerlies behind and exiting weak system. Clouds and showers may dampen the winds a bit. Stevenson reaching near 20; the Corridor reaching mid 20's; the Near East and East reaching mid to upper 20's. The Coast seeing modest NNW winds in the mid to weak upper teens.
Sunday:
Modest westerlies as high pressure fills overhead. Stevenson reaching mid teens; the Corridor reaching upper teens to maybe 20; the Near East reaching some upper teens; the East reaching mid teens. The Coast seeing mild winds. |
