Playa is on the mainland of yucatan and the port from which you can boat over to Cozumel.
The area of playa itself is good entertainment, but the kiting is limited to Cocoa Beach which is north of town about 15 minute walk.
There are great spots to kite south of there at Tulum or paraisio.
One of the better places is Isla Blanca, but that is an hour drive north of playa.
The best wind is over now, it seems to ramp up in november but best january and february.
I have been twice and kited every day buy one...6m to 14m with average around 12m..go figure (6m days are rare).
When you headed down? Check out the local kite schools morph and extreme. |
