Sun Mar 28, 10 6:03 am OT: Best way to split an MP4 file - PC |
|
|
trying load this 45 min mp4 file into Sony Vegas 9 (gets 54% of the way there and hangs - strangely doesn't have a problem in window movie maker - go figure...)
any free and easy way to hack the file in two (tried downloading Haali splitter but have no idea how to get it to work)
is quicktime pro the way to go...
thanks _________________ Go Deep!

11.6 gigs (guess that is too fat? - what is optimal)
found a free program - YAMB - did the trick - once broke in half - Vegas had no issues (though YAMB gave me a never ending windows of errors on exit - till I killed the process...) _________________ Go Deep!

Jesus Christ 11 gigs! Yikes. I would break that up as soon as possible in Vegas and then delete the parts your not using.
Another tip. If you have a second hard drive it typically is faster to have all your program files on one drive and your program files on the other drive. This is espiecailly the case with big files and adding modifications that effect every frame (like slo mo and color changes) |
