What tide levels do you need to make Siletz workable? If its blowing I know I can allways hit Roads End but looking for some FW to help my bro progress to the liquid.
Looking at May 8-12

hey the only thing with that bay is that you want to go there during incoming or slack tides. The OUTGOING tide is a big no no there since it tends to drag you , the board, and body dragging fools out to the pacific. Low tide can be shallow but that may be good for your situation
Last fall was a real sharky time with tons of bait int he water out at river mouth there.
Not so much this time of year.
Hope this helps.

cheers,

ea

You can ride there anytime really, you just have to be good at staying upwind when the tide is low and outgoing (on a south wind), because you will be forced to ride in the channel which has strong currents. Any time the tide is high the sandbar is flooded and there is plenty of calm water to ride on. In the summer on northerly winds it is the opposite, you will probably want to ride the outgoing tide since it will help you stay upwind.

Incoming tide on a south wind is definitely the money combo though. the incoming tide perfectly smooths out all the water right at the mouth of the bay in front of Mo's.

If you want to get real fancy you can plan to be done riding when the tide is low so you have a sandbar to land your kite on, otherwise you end up messing around in the water trying to get your kite down, and probably get your lines tangled in seaweed in the process since there is a bunch of that stuff floating around near the launch site.
