I, Personally believe in freedom of speach, lets just get that out there. And I for one may not stand with the majority on politics in the kiting world. But this site is where I go to blow off steam and look at shit that isn't life and death decisions, or for craps sake politics. I know you guys and gals share the same view on one thing and thats passion about kitting. I would rather listen to you guys debate North VS Sling Shot or Naish VS LF. But leave politics off this forum please. I'm not saything that health care, or the war, or NAFTA or obama VS Bush, or neo conservitive vs wacky liberal debates aren't important, but whats it going to take before all you ass holes are on the beach kicking each others butts or debating when you should be kiting. Am I, as one political affiliation member, not going to save another because he doens't believe what I believe when he is being swept down river.......no, am I know going to be friends with you because I don't have the same personal beliefs that you do, no. I may have been guilty of partisipating in the past, but please stop,,,,,all of you. Mad

Attention seeking adult
Whenever you find someone acting on the extreme side know that he is compensating for something on the other side. Some adults strive for attention and pay any price just to get it. Those attention seeking adults may do inappropriate things like lying just to get the attention or they may engage in a more constructive behavior like striving for success and recognition.

Not all attention seekers are doing so because of a personal disorder but if the person started to sacrifice some of his values for the sake of attention then its probably the result of an under laying disorder.

Why do some people strive for attention?
If as a child, the person did not receive much attention from his parents or his peers he may grow up feeling neglected, those feelings will then be the main drive behind his attention seeking behavior. Abusive parents and parents who are always absent usually make their children feel that they are overlooked and so the child may grow up as an attention seeking adult.

Sometimes adult seek attention because of jealousy. When someone finds himself threatened by another person who is drawing all the attention of others he may counter back with attention seeking behavior. Lack of self worth can be another cause for attention seeking behavior, some people think that they are overlooked and so the only solution to restore their balance is to bring back the lost attention. The attention in this case will provide them with reassurance and will act as proof to them that they are worthy.

Arrogant & overconfident people may seek attention because they have the feeling that they deserve to be in the center of attention. Because they aren’t mature enough they still think with their inner child’s mentality which makes them believe that they are the center of the world. Usually the child thinks that he is the center of the universe around which all other objects revolve. If the child’s way of thinking didn’t mature he will grow up thinking that he is the center of the world and so he will be an attention seeking adult.

Narcissists are also attention seekers, they consider this attention a good source of narcissistic supply and so they strive to get it. If you ignored a narcissist he will definitely hate you especially if he was hoping for some attention from you.

I read many of the posts, not all, but somewhere I missed the reference to the "one guy". Nor in what context. I just want to say one reason I enjoy NWkite is the political stuff is generally absent. The politics should be limited to how is the Kite Assoc doing with the Port to move the brown line in the Event Grass. I probably should know or am I not supposed to ask? The low point for me last summer is when all routes were blocked within the kite area to get out to the sandbar, so I ventured across the line, figured that was okay and I was promtly told to get by a kiter to get back across the line. Makes me think I should just join the crew on the gravel point. Mixed feelings.
