Anyone ever stay at either the blue dream hotel at salinas bay / guanacaste OR hotel tilawa at lake arenal in costa rica? We're trying to pick one for an upcomming trip and could use some input and advice. Interested in any experiences good or bad. thanks |

Hmmm could probably write a huge post of advice but basically I'd say if you can try to hit both the Lake and the Coast...
The Lake is more about things to see than kiting, but you can kite there (don't end up downwind in the Jungle.) Very strong winds, big swell like the Gorge. The kiting there was ok, but mostly it was one of the most beautiful places I have ever visted...
Bahia Salinas is all about kiting, super duper windy everyday... make sure you have a 7m, and probably something smaller. The light wind days are 10m. Nothing much else to do there. Not as beautiful as the lake, though pretty in its own way.
Costa Rica is super strong gusty wind, but also very reliably windy. Make sure you plan kiting and non-kiting stuff to do. Its a great place to visit, but if you are just looking to kite there are places with better conditions. |
