Not that I'm trying to debate as I'm neither a doctor nor a chiro but radio ablation is used to treat pain by heating up nerve endings. To me, that seems like classic treat the symptoms to me.

In other news, the wind seems to be picking up. Solid 11 near Wyeth

I say use accupuncture .
I tried a chiro and my experience says ........ Quack ........ sorry a bad experience .
Tried again with no good or bad result . Better if they did the physiotherapy along with the bone cracking .
Tried the accupuncture and I walked out of his home -office upright for the first time in days . An old chinaman ( truly ) and he hooks up wires to the needles and it twitches and pulls the muscles and bones back into place . It's a pulse of electricity strategically posistioned , triggers the muscles and presto . If he or she knows what their doing just as anything else . This was an old man and has been at it for a long time so I took the chance as nothing was helping .
Now I exercise more and that helps the back a lot !

True story Brian!
As a survivor of a cervical fracture (that's your neck), I would never recommend any chiropractor 'adjusting my spine'. Yes, muscle tension and old injuries are cause for symptomatic pain; and if not rested, stretched, and later strengthened, that pain or spasms or numbness or tingling gets worse and helps to cause asymetry in our stature. (btw numbness and tingling are bad, make an appt w/a neurosurgeon) This asymetry can go on for years unnoticed, so you should respect your injuries! Forcing 'a stretch' is not healthy for the spine which is there primarily to protect our spinal cord, secondarily a route for our nerve roots (motor and sensory) - crack that shit - it could suck! And you could have permanent loss of either or both motor and sensory function! Scary stuff! See a massage therapist, see them regularly (that can be years) and if insured, many insurance carriers can and will pay for this service, ask the therapist if they take insurance, call your m.d. get a prescription for massage, be patient and diligent in your progression. Muscle tension and asymmetry in our bodies can take years to correct.

Secondly, hopes to heal and not have muscle tension w/all the stunts you guys pull on the water, it's absurd to think you won't have problems!? Beware...what we give up for good times, we will all be paying for in old age!

I wouldn't do it for the neck
my last visit to a chrio was 30 yrs. ago
after being raised with one for a family doc (nutty)
for a neck ache. After the visit I rolled around in bed for a couple days
and decided never again
CORE STRENGTHING
Is my current fashion after a L1,L2, slight and moderate herniation
I visited Oregon Spine Therapy in leiu of a recommended surgery
6 hrs. later pain was gone
6 mos later could bend forward again.
But not all will go this way either( they said most don't!)
you are a smart monkey ,but be very careful when it comes to your spine
I had a friend who after a fuse in his lower back pretty much walked like a crab
and another who is pain free
surgery hurts and so can chiros
