Sorry Monkeyboy, but you need to put the damn Unicorn aside for another week or two, cuz it's pow pow time up on the mountain.

10+" of new snow this morning and more coming all week.

Call in sick (sorry everyone at 2nd Wind is excluded) and go hit it while it's good.

Looked at 50mph winds and rain in Gvt Camp, and decided stay at work rather than night ski. Would be nice to get an onsite report to see if I made the right decision.

Snowed all day at Meadows. Very cold up top, and warmer at the base of HRM.
Definitely tons of new snow coverage, but as usual with Hood, was windy. Heather was closed, but Private was worth lapping a couple of times.

Was stoked to have new snow and a valid reason for breaking out the Prophet130's for some slashing in the woods.

Definitely was worth the effort and I am totally shot. Forecast still looks good for next couple of days to bring us more and more snow.

FYI - heard the rumors about higher temps at Govvy. Totally weird, as Meadows was damn chilly up top.

Ah, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow in the Gorge:-) Glad to hear there is no longer a snow drought up there.

How-To Manual on how to screw-up a powder day;
(Came back from Northern Idaho/B.C. ski trip early since Hood looked like getting most generous snow.)
...The totals for today;
-speeding ticket on way up
-locked keys in rental car upon arrival
-got home and realized that my wife and little man were on a play date with other kids/moms (an hour away) and was out of cell range and hadn't brought my house key (friend drove.) Hidden house key was missing...afforded me the opportunity to organize the van for 3 hours.

Stormrider--Glad you are stoked! Very Happy

Hope it gets cold though-- 32º - 33º all day up there.
Weatherman said snow will taper off and temps will drop
slightly to make a 4000' snow level by morning.

But don't tell anyone. Wink

ya the weatherman called for a above 6000' snow level today.... however.....snowing solid from white river on up this morning and this afternoon on the way down....I always study the telemitry but I feel it doesn't always tell the whole story...it was sweet despite the temps that were posted...kinda like checking the wind...never really know what kite you'll put up, till you are on the beach...
