Interested in who strives to make a light weight twin out there. Doesn't seem like the manufacturers are really focusing much on lightness. I have owned heavier boards and listened to the "swing-weight" argument - but they're not for me.
Anything out there, or should I just keep riding my Naish Thorn for another 6 years?

A lot of boards used to be light. They also used to break frequently. Nowdays, boards are build to be strong, have lots of pop and ride smooth. There are trade offs for everthing when designing gear. In this case I will take any of the new boards over what we had 3 years ago.
I think the new boards are not really that much heavier. When you compare the weight the strength comparison. The weight is worth it. |

Check out the Cabrinha boards from this or last year. Very light and some of the most fun boards I have ever ridden. The Caliber and Custom are what I would suggest you take a look at! |

Aggression Kiteboards are amazing and really light and quality.
I do really like my Balance, though. Last edited by kuips on Sun Feb 21, 10 10:22 am; edited 1 time in total |

I'd consider my North Jaime quite light. My Slingshot boards weigh a ton compared to it. Norths I've tried are much lighter than the LFs and SSs I've ridden - the design goals and construction are different. If you're looking specifically to find a light board it shouldn't be hard. I don't expect my Norths to break with my casual riding but if you go hard you might not want to go light! My SS would withstand Armageddon.
Check the reputation of your manufacturer and/or dealer to cover replacement if things go awry. |

Wainman Blunts, Xenon, SU-2 are the lightest on the market in my opinion. |

Ditto. The raptor pro is made from carbon fiber and is a totally awesome board. |

The Wainman Blunts are super light and have a ton of concave. They edge really well in chop for those big air days. I can't say it's the lightes cuz I have not tried every board out there. |

The F-one Trax 3 is really light weight. Even the foot pads are super light weight.
Everyone who picks it up always comments on how light it is. I have a 134 you can borrow if you want to check it out.
I don't know if its lighter than the Wainmans (they are really light) but I do know it is lighter than the cabrinha's.
Plus the Trax 3 just plain rocks!! Is a extremely responsive board for all type of conditions. Fin or finless, great freeride and freestyle performance. Smooth and fast riding with powerful pop.

I hear jimmy lewis boards are very light.
they are also known to be somewhat fragile
Note: fragile is pronounced Fraj-i-le _________________ www.youtube.com/c/christianjohnsons |
