Sun Feb 14, 10 2:00 pm Love my Thrusters |
|

My 3 2008 Thrusters are holding up very well. Bought a used one with multiple tears and taped them over a year ago and still fly great. This will be the first time I have owned a kite for three years.
The kite has some tradeoffs with relaunching but that is due to its design and the incredible jumps and fast handling you get. In less than 15 it is tough to get up, but launching it C kite style works. Cant say much positive about the bar, but changed out the CL and it works fine.
Just thought a real user should post here and not some industry people.
SStan: Oh man I feel like a total choad.
Cartmen: Aw c'mon Stan. Maybe thats because you look like a total choad. |

Maybe they should rename the kite "the shill"? |

Probably should, they screwed enough people. Just sayin the kite itself was very good, high performance design. One of thier team riders had a 2009 bar break on him during a 25 foot jump. The bolt broke at the CL. That design is fucked. |

luv the hate! any one who wants to now the truth about the thrusters,
well just ride one , test it against all the other kites that are compairable ,
and it will speak for itself,
it is truely one of the best sle kites made by any company, and proves itself over, and over, and........over ,
jumping, gliding, looping , the looping find another that beats this kite,!
put any 14 up or 12 or 10 and fly it against any other of the same size?
yep the truth speax 4 itself...
relaunch SUX IN LIGHTER WIND !!and thats 4 shure!! , the trade offs are woth every penny..
pull three kiteloops with youre 14 at 40 feet !!
and have it back over youre head! with a soft let down
just my opinion of the thruster , and yes ive flown most of the kites from most companys .
08,09.and 2010ns, RPMS ARE THE ONLEY KITE SOFAR THAT MIGHT MAKE ME THINK TWICE,
and there are alot to test so get out and do the real research, and you will have a good opinion on the subject.
and if u have , well you would now the truth.
thruster is a xelent kite and will remain.

Did you bother to read my post? Not hating at all. I said it was an excellent design on the kite. BAR SUCKS.
RPM is my next kite. Blows the Octane away IMO. |

The Octane is a great kite, but much slower with less direct C-kite feel. Rpm unhooka better, reverse launches in light wind and has a huge range on the freestyle setting. The c kite setting gives even better unhooking. I rode the Octane yesterday back to back with the 12m RPM and its no contest IMO. The range on the RPM is huge. Once rode the 12 in 30 +. New swivel is icing on the cake.
I think of RPM as a Fuel with range and much better relaunch. |

Nothing dude you are right on about the RPMs they are sick. I think they feel basically like a fuel with depower, and better relaunch. I fly them on the C setting you spoke of with your bridles moved all the way into the attachment points closest to the center of the kite, and its the best kite I have every riden, especially in the gorge where its gusty. Also I fly them all on my 12 inch or so bar and they are sick, flown up to 12 on that bar and they fly well, I imagine on a full size bar they are real fast. _________________ I heart dangling |

And no RPM is where its at for unhooked stuff. You are exactly right about the kites. RPM is for unhooking Octane is for boosting. _________________ I heart dangling |

Ok so Octane is designed more for? I liked that kite too, but like the switchblade doesn't work for me as well. Is it more Bow shaped?
Octane has more hangtime too.. |
