Slingy is my prefered brand to abuse at the beach.......but keep it simple....
Is that last pic for some r n d comments.... those pieces will be chewed into pieces by beach sand (pulleys and small rope).
Bring back the 05 bar with the lentons pro, 1/2 belay device hole, to avoid abrasion. Simple and cheap.
Oh and for 500 bucks how bout some colored lines for the snowkite launches.
Slingys worth every penny. |

I'm not trying to be a hater but.... I have 2 new compstick bars, & that new depower rope is too thin. The pully, that is at the top of the depower strap, makes uneven tension on it & seems to be really straining the one side. I hope I'm just being a worry wort & nothing becomes of it. I am also wondering why the rope is so thin while a huge effort was made to beef up the rest of the bar, especially the ends. Those ends feel like they could hurt someone. I really thought the 09 bar was sweet, aside from that bushing that rarely turns.
My two cents for 2011 is unbeef the bar a little & put some meat on that DP rope. |

3/16" Amsteel has a minimum breaking strength of 4900 pounds... Even 1/8" Amsteel has a minimum breaking strength of 2300 pounds. Probably enough beef on the rope. Yeah, Amsteel can fray and then fail. By going thinner you reduce wear, so the thinner rope should be more durable than the thicker rope. I've been using thinner Amsteel on my bars for years, and it definitely lasts longer than the 1/4" stuff. |

Shay. If you guys need a name for a strip club I saw the best name ever the other day over by the airport...."the landing strip"
but all teasing aside I love my slingys. Always been a fan and they take care of you in the off chance that something goes sideways. |

yeah there warranty is nice. and I do own two len10 boards.
if the kites were more reasonably priced I'd be all for them. just can't justify it though.
one down side to having special custom high tech parts on your bar is that when they wear out and you replace the gadgetry swivel with a downrigger swivel you loose all the style points you paid top dollar for.
on a completely different note. I have a slingy hoodie I got on 40% discount off ebay and its my favorite hoodie of all time. haha _________________ www.youtube.com/c/christianjohnsons |

Real good link that show's the finer points on the COMPSTICK.

O ya' those bar don't run retail for 500.00 there 450.00. That's a 50.00 extra bucks you can spend on beer!
Also if you want color lines just use 2 color sharpies and color them your self. That is a 2 dollar fix. Most color lines cost to much and are not as durable. But I still don't get the color line questions? Those lines are even harder to see then the white because the white always will cast a shadow, so you can tell were they are and which way they're twisted. _________________ https://www.hipcamp.com/discover/washington/windwoodrivers

Shadows? No way. Try that on snow in bright light. Your lines are invisible. Like the strength though. New swivel is much loved. Most swivels don't work well.
Biggest mistake is the new kite prices. You guys are more than Cab now. Hope you like end of year discounts cause the Octane ain't that great. Tried it and its just a refined REV. No way you guys are gonna come out ahead on that one. Just makes more room for new brands like Epic to eat your lunch. But good luck. |

If that is how slingy analyzes user critisism no wonder their kites are so much better!
Not trying to bash just giving critisizm in efforts to push true innovation and primarily encourage newbies to try before you buy...to bad you have to take it personally.
If you werent such a homer and objectively flew some other kites you would realize SS isnt "all that"
Only amplified when price point is considered |
