Any wind to report that way? Forecast looks bleak. Thinking of heading down, but the lack of wind makes me wonder.

Don't try forecasting this spot. It will bite you. With that said, forecast looks good to me. Sun and wind tomorrow and Sunday. Sat....who knows.

Just an FYI for any of you heading out to Idaho who might be in need of snowshoes, randonee skis or splitboards.

We have these items for rental, of which a few of you kiters have already been taking advantage of.

Snowshoes - We have the MSR rigid shoes that are handy for using either as safety to get you back if the shit hits the fan, or just for walking around while setting up your lines
Randonee skis - We have the Black Diamond Justus and Joule skis set up with Fritschi rando bindings and climbing skis.
Split boards - We have the Atomic Poacher Split Snowboard with bindings and climbing skins

Thanks
Pepi

Yea, I missed the event last year, because I went with the forecasted wind...
Big mistake..

(We're bringing our sleds as backup recreation, just in case)

Here's your on location update.
Been here since Tuesday and have not had any wind here at all.
Had a good time today thanks to the slider project.
I have to leave Monday and am keeping my fingers crossed for a good day before I go.

So how did the soldiers make out?

Looked like a squirt of west wind yesterday? Maybe a little light easterly over the ridge on Saturday?

Little bit of wind yesterday as most of us were packing it in. I heard it got pretty good. I had a blast though. They poor the drinks deep there. The rail jam was my favorite!

Sunday ended up turning out to be a great day. The winds started off light and ended up picking up to about 10 knots. I counted over 30 kites in the air and there were another 20 or so in the launching area. We scored a great session on the kicker for a few hours and then ventured off miles into the back country. A few riders even made it to the summit of a nearby mountain. Thats the beauty of Idaho, so many options.

Monty Ran the Poker run as well which is a great concept to get newer riders to go explore and figure out how to navigate the hills.

The sun was out all day, the vibe was great and Idaho continues to be my favorite place to ride.

Props to Monty and Trisha for a great event.

We have a sayin' in Da Ho that goes 'If you don't like the weather (wind) wait 5 minutes' this past week turned that into 'wait 5 days'

A light wind session on sunday is butta than nothing tho, good chance to practice low-consequence unhooked riding......handle passes to face plants were in abundance yesterday! Thumb's Up Wave
