Impressed that you hauled those boxes all the way to Idaho. Wish I could have been there. Nice work

Man, those pics are the shizzzel....

Idaho snowkiting is dope. Everyone should give it a shot.
The conditions there are un-real. Endless amount of sick space.
Someone needs to get another event hooked up.

Go get sum...! Do it - do it now....!

Sick stuff everyone! We are stoked on the hype....
Click on www.snowkiteevent.com and go to "2010 Wrap Up" for awards results and pictures. See you next year! M&T

Kite Soldiers 2010 was a blast! Plain and simple. Great attitudes and big smiles were just a couple of the reasons this years event was definitely one for the books. The lack of wind on the first two days of the event was not ideal, but that didn't seem to sour the attitudes of the many people who attended. The Slider Project LLC put together 2 terrain parks sponsored by Naish. Huge props to them! Backcountry skiers, snowboarders and snowmobiles were zipping around the surrounding area and shuttling riders to and from the event. The sun was shining, the temps were warm and the scenery was more than breathtaking. A huge Kite Soldiers style celebration on Saturday night topped off the weekend and thousands of dollars in prizes were awarded to many lucky winners, including Jim Bates, who won an Ozone Twisted Snowkite Board.

On day 3 the wind finally started to dance and ended up in full tango mode by 1:00 pm. Big kites were the ticket as riders from around the world enjoyed the Poker Run course and the chance to win amazing prizes provided by our sponsors... like a brand new Naish 10.5 Helix with bar and lines, a Slingshot B3 kite, a Dakine harness, Zeal goggles and much more.

Thanks to everyone for attending and supporting!!! Another huge thank you to our headline sponsors, Naish and Promoshop/Ecopromos.com out of Boise. We couldn’t have done this without you! And to our other spectacular sponsors Slingshot, Ozone, Trew Gear, Airush, Flysurfer, Best, Line Skis, Snow Affair and Dakine for your support. Immense appreciation goes out to to our volunteers, Mama Pam, the University of Washington Kiteboarding Club, Nick, Emma, Matt and everyone who jumped in to help and make Kite Soldiers 2010 a reality. We will see you in 2011...

Good winds! ~ Monty & Trisha, Snowkite Soldier LLC

Hi All
KItesoldier was awesome .
Too bad for the lack of wind the first two days but , hey , I met awesome people , some not for the first time which was even better .
Being an older guy and accepted by younger kiters - riders sure makes for a truly incredible experience . Confirming this sport is for everyone . Even the man with a prosthetic leg and I'm sorry I can't remember his name , but I sure hope he gets his position in Corpus !
I was given advice on riding the slider and rail which made up for the no wind situation and turned the two days into a great time . A trophy for rookie of the event sure boosted my ol ego tons . Thanks to all you guys !
Monty and Trisha sure made a heartfelt effort to ensure everyone was part of a great event . Thanks to you both and everyone else who assisted in making it all possible .
It was worth the drive to meet all my fellow kiting community and am looking forward to seeing you wherever kiting takes me in the future .
All the local folks I met in Fairfield were very friendly and the best is it came from the heart , making me feel comfortable and at home .
Jack Zwanenburg

Good meeting you Jack! We were all truly impressed with you effort since we don't see rookies like you very often. You were really going for it on the Slider!

Check out this video from fri and sat "the days with no wind" At a spot an hour from the event. Craters of the moon! There is even a wind gauge in the parking area. Looking at the history on that gauge makes me believe its a morning spot with catabatic high pressure wind. This is a spot that is worth checking out!
