So I had the best day ever, first one in the water by 10 a.m. On my Mega Booster 11m Edge RX Smile)) Nicely Wound!! NE wrapping swell right into the 'Log of Death' double up...and I found a mermaid...

Whilst I was kiting, I found a boat, floundering in the lagoon. So I got the Mermaid digits, and said I call her later, then landed and proceeded as follows:

Pushing three fishermen in there 'dead in the water' boat out to a Coast Guard recsue by 12:30! AND I'M GLAD THEY ARE ALL OK!

but really! As I started telling the guys how muCh shite they were gonna get from the Coast Guard, for ONLY HAVING 1 MOTOR ON THEIR BOAT AT THE FUCKINGEEE MOUTH OF THE GOD DAMN COLUMBIA RIVER....
.....and telling them just to ignore all the shit and just get back and start working on your boat...
....then one guy said 'dood, I have a 6 pack of beer on the boat! Are they gonna care?"
As I pushed there boat into the channel for rescue, noticed the boat was heavier and heavier, so on a large set of river swell, I noticed the boat had nearly filled with water...
....so just as I started to answer his question, I said, "dood, is that a bucket?"
He said "yeah, 5-gallon"
....I said " can you hear me?
He just stared at me
...I said "what's your name"
He Said "G*#@"
....I said "Grab that fukn bucket and start bailing water"
He said " Bail" and looked as if he was going to jump out, but just stood on top of a cooler full of ............. a 6-pack.
So I yelled at the other 2 guys, ntil someone figured out what bailing water is, I explained it to them, but they probably only hear the f s and dh words coming out of my mouth, doods were shocked the boat was nearly rolling and the brand new motor wouldn't start!

onCE THE doods were bailing water, and the coast guard was coming into hook up,
I asked "how was the crab"
they said " we haven't tossed a pot"
I just shut the f up at that point, and waived goodbye as the CG towed away what I had respect for until I realized they hadn't a crab on the boat!

Finally, got the fn boat out of the kite jetty lagoon, and on it's way out of our way.

If you learn from this story, take this to heart:
Always roll with 2 motors on the N. Stip
Always check the weather!
And never roll around with just a 6 pack....cause the guy pushing your boat wants a pony keg!Smile

Awesome!

so how many boneheads do you rescue a month - I imagine that team Boston Whaler is pretty typical - anyone piloting an inner tube?

Sweet, I love the photo you posted. At first glance it seems all business like; CG catching a tow rope from the passengers on the boat that is in distress. But with a second glance, one can see the fun going on/kite in the background (look at the circle the CG person makes with their hands while catching the tope rope.)

Just like a mullet, business upfront, party in the back. Smile

What your seeing is actually a crew member paying out line, we always pass the tow line. And good catch in that picture, I hadn't noticed the kite in the background. Now I might have to post a full size for a better view. Wink
