Hey Everyone,
I just wanted to take a moment to appeal to you on behalf of the CGKA. I am a member of the CGKA Board of Directors who spend countless hours working on issues that face every kiteboarder who rides in the Columbia River Gorge, even if you only come once a year or only ride Viento, Rufus, or some other secret spot.
Kiteboard access to the Columbia River is not a right. It is a hard earned privilege. Obtaining, developing and improving access is YOUR responsibility.
The CGKA was formed out of the need for kiteboarder representation in the Columbia River Gorge. The CGKA is the community organization that allows the Columbia River kiteboarding public to be recognized by government and other stakeholder organizations in the Columbia River Gorge. If you were around 3 to 4 years ago, you know the kind of hurdles that had to be dealt with in order to kiteboard in the Columbia River Gorge.
The CGKA works nonstop to improve access in the Columbia River Gorge and will be sending out a newsletter to members discussing some of the wins we've had on behalf of you, the Columbia River Kiteboarder.
The community needs people of all skill sets and experience to step up to the plate and represent them on the CGKA Board of Directors. If you have free time and you're interested in giving back to the community the CGKA Board of Directors is the right venue. |
