I'm trying to figure out how to attach this thing like they do in the picture, I can't for the life of me figure out how to attach it to a Protec helmet exactly like the one in this picture. What do the straps loop around?

as john said in one vent out the other.
I mounted mine on this exact helmet model in Maui. just adjust the cam angle once it's on the helmet.

spike,
I think I understand your problem.
I just tried to mount my helmet strap to a helmet. based on the image you posted, the strap is going through only one hole.
I assume this based on the pattern from the other three holes in the image.
This mount works with two holes. not sure how to make one hole work with this strap.
I suggest either using the two front side holes just above the forehaed area or just try using an adhesive backed mount.
If your concern with the adhesive mounts, then add a tether line to your helmet to your cam in the event it breaks free from water or impact.
good luck with the mount,
stringy

The problem was difficult to put into words, but I tried Gman's approach, right strap goes down through right hole, up through left, end into the left clip. Left strap goes down through left hole, fold over the other strap inside the helmet, then up through right hole and into the right clip. Thanks guys!
No just a good memory card (any suggestions?) and some practice...
Is there any freeware video editing software out there? What are you guys all using? All I need is cut and past editing for sound and video so I can cut out the boring scenes and add a sound track. I don't need any special effects.
