Looking for Fellow Kiters to enjoy OR coast! Lots of wind this week with big ugly wind waves and swell. Takers? I've got wheels and live in Beaverton.

OK...
I will share a secret I found three years ago.

Chinook County park.
Chinook Washington just on the other side of the bridge from Astoria.

Nor Bay. (northbay)

Mid tide---it's waist deep.
Minus tides it's all sand.
Flat water.
SE, S, W, or NW wind
but not North or East winds.
North American speed record for windsurfing has been made there 2 times.

It's perfect for wakestyle kiting all winter.

Fun spot.
Tired of kiting it alone and finding someone to catch my kite.
So have at it.
Respect the local community.
Be safe so it doesn't get shut down.

Rare fall NW hoot on a 9m today at full tide in the estuary. Sun, a gust or two and very little rain. I traded off surfboard for the skim which is more fun in the standing waves as the tide goes out - some pretty good sized ones too (for the estuary that means waist to chest high standing waves with faces), just like riverboarding if you've ever done that. Surf was massive and messy so getting outside was more victory at sea than anything. The slicks right now in the estuary are pretty special flatwater if you are into it. Finless skimming is at its best though. You can make use of every corner of the inlet for both navigation and sick sick butter.

Looks a little lighter but still NW tomorrow but if you get on it early, the tide is full and will be best around 10am. Forecast says it will clock S and get lighter but then another system will be hitting Th and later in the week. Check the afternoon NWS/NOAA update. I never thought I'd say it but http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=apyB93-1FHk.

Get it Razz
