Wed Oct 21, 09 12:45 pm Best wind for Rooster Rock |

Now that the Viet Shlong have left the area, what type of wind conditions are best for Rooster Rock? I am a newbie, kook, rookie etc. this season and I just added more kites to my quiver and I don't want to stop for the winter. I also plan to do dry land kiting with smaller kites and landboard, any opinions about Jones beach for that activity? Thanks for any and all advice. _________________ Somebody please tell me what's going on... |

Jones doesn't have enough hard pack sand for groundboarding. Keep driving until you get to the coast. Get there around low tide for best results. Best places are Seaside (late fall and winter after the lifeguard towers are down and the beaches are pretty empty), 18th street in Seaside, Del Rey and Sunset beaches. _________________ Lets FLY |

| Rooster is kited on the east. The easterlies start early AM and diminish by 2-3 typically. Jones for landboarding? maybe, but not a whole lot of damp sand. Same with rooster. You can try skate kiting with us at the PDX airport. |

| I would like to get in on some skate kiting this winter. I live in rose city neighborhood, so I am right down the road. What kite works best? Trainer? B2? |
