AT&T is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Even Soviet Russia had better customer care.

Yes Agreed. I never talk crap about customer service because I never make outlandish requests. But right after signing up for the iphone they jacked something up and I had to throw a fit to get it fixed.

My exact words were, "So I just spent 200 bucks on an iphone, signed up for a service plan for 2 years and 100ish a month. So pretty much I just gave your company 2600 bucks over the next two years and this is the service that I am getting? I am not at all impressed."

My blackberry storm does not compare with the I phone.

My favorite feature so far is that it still works after dropping it in a bucket full of five gallons of water.

Get a iphone and deal with ATT....... you just got to know how to talk with the customer service peep with ANY of the cellular companies.

Kind of like not going shopping after getting stoned.

Don't calll them desperate or pissed.

I have had them all at one point like many of you.

They all sucked balls at one point and thats not in a good way.

Kind of like a beautiful amazing woman ( or man for the ladies). You can always find someone out there that knows a flip side and is done with him or her.

Mac is definately intouch with the gadgets........ guess they want more money too. Twisted Evil

Hmmmm, I am starting to wonder if AT&T's Northwest coverage is as bad as I have heard.

I think that would be my only reason to not go with the Iphone. Verizon has not had great customer service as far as I am concerned. But wherever I go, 3 mile to Pistol, I have coverage.

Can you Iphoners/AT&T'ers say the same?

Just picked up my iphone yesterday. Been with at&t for a while with decent coverage and no problems. I must admit it was all the app's that sold me. The one bummer is the wind meter app is not yet compatible with the 3Gs.

Still a sweet phone.

Def cannot say enough good about the app's, the techy features and touchscreen but coverage does blow donkey a-holes up and down the coast. 3G connectivity is weak pretty much everywhere outside of major metro areas too, but it beats the shit out Verizon's bowl of shit-covered dickeaters for customer service!

I dropped Verizon a few years ago because it doesn't work in the gorge (internet doesnt)

So far I am pretty happy with AT&T...a few dropped calls here and there but over all awesome.

Works great from ptown all the way to rufus...not sure about the coast yet. I even get coverage when I am dirtbiking Post Canyon and Mt. Adams.

The one thing I think is crazy is the cost of the plans I know smart phones are expensive but seems over the top to me and the battery life on the Iphone sucks!!!

I'll third that. When I got my current number I switched over to AT&T. Had so many problems in the first month I exercised their 30-day trial clause, but they said they would charge me $275 dollars because it was day 31. Sprint bent over backwards to keep me when I tried to cancel, and I had switched because reception was poor where I moved but they updated firmware and it worked fine. Ultimately I rented my Sprint phone/account to my roommate for two years then told AT&T to f off and ported the number. I have a killer deal but spotty coverage in Parkdale and some rural south coast spots (Waldport area), and a few billing problems but less in ten years than I had with AT&T in the first few months. This combined with my recent business dealings with Apple and you'll never see me holding an iPhone...

I'm interested in getting a Pre so thanks for your feedback Chooch. iPhone tops the market for apps (for now), but what's under the hood in the Pre blows doors on the single-tasking iPhone. I know a few of the iPhone architects and Palm enticed them with truckloads of money to build the Pre last fall. In the next year you'll see Android ramping up, bringing more apps to Google phones and Motorola is also betting their future on it, and you'll see Chrome become a more prevalent browser (I switched from Firefox last month and am sold).

OK so I'm homesick for the NW but delirious from a lit 7m session in CA today so I'll stop geek-babbling now. Very Happy

OK, I know I'm getting too OT on this OT... but Chrome? I have it and use it some but I heard a rumor that Google is "spying" on us while we use Chrome. That the reason it's so fast is that Google saves everything we do, and somehow keeps it in a proxy server somewhere. Too paranoid?

And that's different from the government watching everything we write, how? Wink

Chrome is fast because it was rewritten from the ground up and not evolved from old Netscape code. It isolates each tab/window in its own lightweight process so one network delay doesn't bog the others down. Mainly Chrome is being written/optimized for 4G products but I'm under NDA so I'll stop there...

...and I can neither confirm nor deny your rumor. Cool

And it's got an 'incognito' mode so you can surf (kite) porn without it being saved in your history.

Apple is desperately working on their battery life issues, so if you know power management techniques in embedded electronics send them a job application so you too can be overworked and underpaid.
