Stupid IPhone Tricks:

Do this with your Gmail:

http://www.google.com/mobile/products/sync.html#p=apple

Then run this to get everyone to show up with their Facebook profile in your phone:

http://www.koushikdutta.com/2008/10/synchronizing-google-and-facebook.html

Thumb's Up

p.s. I got an IPhone. I got an IPhone. I got an IPhone. I got an IPhone. I got an IPhone. I got an IPhone. I got an IPhone. I got an IPhone. I got an IPhone. I got an IPhone. I got an IPhone. I got an IPhone. I got an IPhone. I got an IPhone. I got an IPhone. I got an IPhone.

I know, the only thing that would have been worse is if I posted this to Twitter.

OK, I am ready for a new phone and have been researching/asking around.

I would appreciate any comments on the conclusion I have come to:

IPhone - neat gadget, best browser hands down, but AT&T bites and their coverage around the PNW bites. Don't hold your breath waiting for a Iphone/Verizon offering.

Since I need a phone with solid reception up and down the coast and occasionally out in the Gorge...I am best off going with a Blackberry/Verizon combo. If this is true, which Blackberry has the best browser?

Question

Dude. I have an iphone and yeah AT+T blows but can't imagine anything else. I'm totally sold on them. Get good enough coverage that it hasn't been a problem.

Anybody check out the My Touch phone from T-mobile? I already have t-mobile service and I am pretty happy with them. Would be sweet to get a new phone where I could check the wind while I'm on the road.

Make sure you check craigslist for phones... Nic got her last phone (pre IPhone) there and saved a lot of money and didn't need to sign a contract.

Verizon's coverage on the coast is impressive. I have a wireless card from them and my laptop got 3mb even in the small towns like Blowhardville

Just be careful about buying cell phones on ebay. Many, many knockoffs from China are making their way onto the ebay platform as the real thing. I bought one of these knock offs. They look and feel like the real thing - but only last about 2 months before taking a massive dump.

I've had the blackberry Pearl for about a year. Its ok but small and hard to type. I just got a blackberry Curve. It is one of the larger styles of blackberrys. You can go with a Tour/Curve and that will give you the qwerty keyboard; much nicer for typing. The other large blackberry format is the Storm. It has the on screen typing keys but my research has shown that it isn't near as nice as iphone's. So I wen with the Curve and today is my first day. I like it. Browsing is fine.

Just got the new Palm Pre for Sprint. Had a Crackberry for the last two years and I found that the trackball is shit when it comes to sand. Jams up all the time Evil or Very Mad . The new Pre is a touchscreen like the iphone but it has a flip down keypad for texting which is nice Rolling Eyes . That touch screen texting is a bit awkward. So far so good with the Palm, the os runs nice and is easy to figure out. 8 gig worth of memory and only $150 at Best buy

Plus you can't beat $100 a month for sprint's unlimited plan and their great service around the NW

Damn, now I want Chooch's phone!
I had the BlackBerry curve and Loved it, true about the trackball though it never stopped working on me...
My woman has the iphone
I HATE touch screen texting and the iphone feels really gimicky to me,
Also, we share a plan so are both on ATT and I routinely get service where her iphone does not...interesting

I have an iPhone and it works great in the Gorge and on the coast. There is no Verizon coverage in the gorge, that's why I switched to AT&T.
