no - she and her boyfriend pushed the fucker back in the water - was pretty entertaining (my bro Dan J offered to give a hand and I grabbed him and told him it was a good way to lose one)

swam off looking for some payback

Awesome!! I feel better now LOL! thanks John Very Happy

My wife's aunt got attacked by a shark while taking a picture of her familyon a beach down in Texas...not exactly kite related but has the bite marks to prove it.

I saw a black tipped reef shark while spear fishing at night on a reef in the Philippines. I do believe this was before kiteboarding was actually a sport...so I guess its not kiteboard related. But hey..I have a shark story. Smile

My wife saw a big Bull shark in SPI a few years back - it was way outside.
She stayed in the break after that (guess sharks are scarier than waves Shocked).

It turns out that sturgeon was under 18....Sooo I'm a little worried about the legal ramifications of that escapade.

I'm not saying it didn't make the masturbatory highlight reel though Laughing

It's the ones that you DON't See that you worry about.

Kited right over about a 8ft hammerhead in the middle of kailua bay one time.
Hoping that I would'nt hit a chop or dig rail or something else dumb.

Also over in the Philippines kited over a school of reef sharks, a little frightening especially after that I was floating around in the wind shadow of Grande Island waiting for a pickup.

My friend had a great white following him over in NW, although he did'nt identity tag it or anything. He said he was kiting and the looked back and saw what possibly was the biggest shadow with fins he ever saw.
creepy.

Surfing outside reef breaks here by yourself you see a few small ones.
One time we saw about a 10ft tiger crusing in about 4 ft of water on the inside reef. We mangaged to paddle accros the inside to saftey.
Think he was just asserting his domain. Feeding time?

Even in populated surf breaks once and a while you will see one, paddled right by a 10footer at Alamoana beach outside in the channel one time, yummy water was clear got a greta up close look at the friendly giant. petting zoo NOT Rolling Eyes
