This issue of Kiteboarding Magazine I am doing a story on shark encounters while kiting.
Do any of you have any shark photos that are tied to kiting.
How about cool shark encounter stories.
I'll be printing a few photos and interviewing a few people with legit shark stories.
Thanks,
Aaron

this chick was catching them while we were setting up in Jupiter - jumped about 10 feet in the air and did a fantastic barrel roll
no pictures of the big one that swam by at Gold Beach last Memorial Day...

Kramer and I saw one at Newport on 20-Sept-09, got out of the water and alerted everyone else that would pay attention.
The very next week we saw the follow posted on the bathroom wall, so ya their out there, and I did see one.
That’s not going to stop me from getting back in the water when the swell and period equation equals DOH!

| It was definitely a great white. I just saw the fin and part of the back. It was grey, triangular and looked 2-3 ft tall.

I did not stick around to measure its size or determine its species.
I saw it, turned around and got out of the water. The first time I had to walk down wind to the launch.
Kramer estimated it to be 12' to 14' in length

I remember the Farallon Island researchers mentioning how great whites migrated back to that area around August and stayed into Fall each year.
The shark research committee plotted a breakdown of attacks by month (over past century) on the west coast and it turns out that Aug-Oct have almost 2-3 times as many attacks as other months. September sets the record at 21 attacks. Makes sense that there were more sightings this month I guess.

no - she and her boyfriend pushed the fucker back in the water - was pretty entertaining (my bro Dan J offered to give a hand and I grabbed him and told him it was a good way to lose one)
swam off looking for some payback
