I lost my board in the middle of the river at Roster Rock today. Actually my SO did that, and lost sight of it. I dragged out there when she got to shore, spent quite some time in the water, but couldn't find the board anywhere. I am sure glad I had full wetsuit on and not a shorty. Any idea where to look (without the boat)? Is there a chance the board will wash out at Corbett beach? I think I might hike that beach tomorrow. Anyone had any luck there?

Dude, it could wash up anywhere, or make it to the Ocean. Sad What time did you lose it? Was your number on it? There were a lot of fisherman out on the river, Camas & downriver, one of them might have picked it up...

There's a couple of large sand islands between Rooster & Reed Island. The board could have washed up on one of those, or Reed Island itself.

Henry & I were at Reed Island from about 11:00 till 2:00. I didn't see anything go by in that time frame.

Good luck!

Thanks Nak. We lost it around 5pm. We stopped at overlook point and at Corbett to scan the river with binoculars, but no luck. Yeah, my name and number are on the board.

How did your wife due?

I learned the hard way not to loop the kite when its kind of low in the window. I guess I kind felt reuban esque for a moment..till I landed, bounced about 5 feet off the water and landed on my ribs.

Riding out there today when you couldn't even open your eyes on the beach because of the blowing sand makes you realize how truly psycho that guy is when he pulls huge kite loops in those conditions!

Phil lost his kite and board a couple years ago and he actually found them washed ashore on the washington side the next day.

The land is owned by someone but you could ask if you could go check for your board.

Thanks for the suggestion BB. You mean in a channel behind Reed Island, right? We’ll try to have a look there too. It’s more for making her feel better since she feels bad for dropping my favorite board in the waves. And we might find the board as a bonus. I am proud of her being able to go out in such challenging conditions. She was out ridding on another board as soon as I dragged back to shore, and she almost was staying upwind. Great progress this season Exclamation

PMB, bummer about your ribs. Heal fast!
