Hey some of you have been posting some nice vids. What are you finding is a good all in one type program for editing that also includes image stabilizer/anti shake programs and auto rotation.

I have Adobe Premiere Elements on a PC and Im not too happy with my options.

Kraemer or Adam would know best. I found Sony Vegas a little easier to use. Adobe premier should do tilt but I think the good anti shake functions are third party plug ins That you have to purchase seperately.

There are allot of good fora for vegas

I hear Windows MovieMaker is pretty dope? Laughing

I run FCP 6... not gonna work for a PC.

When I was on a PC, I ran Vegas. All the power yet very intuitive app. You could also just get After Effects, it has a pretty good point tracking function.

Make sure the footage you want to stabilize is a good candidate for that kind of processing. You get the best results with HD footage and simple mechanical vibration (ie shooting a skyline out a car window).

Ill be shooting in a limited high def 720p 30 fps waterproof Xacti that spits out H.264 MPEG4.

Ill take a look at the Vegas and After Effects. Will the Sony Vegas Movie Studio be sufficient or are you referring to the Vegas Pro?

H.264 is a money codec. I'd go Vegas Pro if you want any kind of ability to crop or motion track (stabilize). Adobe Premiere is a pretty strong app... I would try out adding After Effects first, and then maybe look into Vegas Pro to replace Premiere if you're still not happy with your toolset.

After Effects, alone, most likely isn't going to do what you want. You'll need to get an additional plug-in (for AE) such as Magic Bullet Steady for the best results. This works similar to Final Cut's SmoothCam and does not require tracking a single point as AE's built in tracker does.

Lastly, workflow between AE and Vegas is a bitch! Haven't tried the H.264 stuff that comes off your cam, but Adobe in general doesn't work well with anything MPEG related that's not encoded by their software. For this reason, workflow between Premiere and AE would be the most ideal, so long as they will both ingest your native H.264 footage.
