You guys ride at Viento State Park or is it just a load in point for a DW?
What do you do for an out if things get hairy? Walk thru the woods to 84 and follow the road back to the hood? _________________ __________________________

Viento is the most common launch point for downwinders to the sandbar. During the peak season traffic jams on the sandbar, I tend to send out booty calls for people to join me on downwinders to get away from the crowds and explore new sections of river.
If the shit hits the fan and the wind dies, it's definitely a self rescue situation. I prefer the Oregon side due to the shoreline being a bit more forgiving and hitching a ride back to Viento is more realistic.
As for today, it was quite the opposite. Monkeyboy and his wingman bailed, so I was left standing alone on the beach contemplating whether the wind would stay strong or die off. Thinking it was likely to die off, I rigged big (14m2 kite and strapless fish surfboard). I was lit beyond belief for most of the ride until the hatchery when things got a little more manageable. But, that is what makes this so much fun to do, it's never the same and you never know what to expect. _________________ Pure Stoke Sports

Haha, I think Pepi is addicted to rigging the 14m and going for a wild ride. _________________ The Slider Project, LLC
